The GATE exam is held each year in association with a technical institute. This exam is taken by those candidates who wish to join post graduate courses in engineering like M.Tech, M.E and PhD. It is one of the most crucial courses for any engineering student.
When is this exam held?
This exam is held every year tentatively in the months of January and February. Taken only by those who can pass their undergraduate courses in engineering, this exam is crucial, as well as, quite difficult. Every year, an institute of national level takes charge to organize the exam and the GATE 2014 exam is organized by IIT Kharagpur. The schedule for the exam is given every year in the website of this exam.

The preparation for this exam has to thorough and perfect. With the M.E degree, an engineer can get a government or private job of the highest rank and it will completely vindicate the amount of labor and hard work he has put in all these years. The number of candidates who apply for the GATE exam every year is not as much as the number of students appearing for the under-graduate degree. The experience earned by the candidates during their graduation days comes handy, and with a little effort and proper guidance, one can hope to clear this level. There are thousands of competitive exams held each year, and like GATE, they are all quite prestigious. Preparing and appearing for this exam, requires time, experience and patience. There is no age bar and one can take a leap of a few years, and then, appear for the exam. It is sometimes difficult to prepare for such an exam if one is already in a job. But, once cleared, this degree is an achievement or lifetime and it brings out one’s true worth. The top professors in the IIT have all gone through this ordeal, and then, found a job, which was worth all the pain.
