The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was established by an Act of Parliament in 1985. It has continuously build an inclusive knowledge society through education. It has tried to increase the Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) by offering high-quality teaching through the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode . The University began by offering two academic programmes in 1987, i.e., Diploma in Management and Diploma in Distance Education, with strength of 4,528 students. Admission to IGNOU Courses in Management , Education and nursing are done on the basis of marks received in Entrance Tests
Today, it serves the educational aspirations of over 3 million students in India and other countries through 21 Schools of Studies and a network of 67 regional centres, around 2,667 learner support centres and 29 overseas partner institutions. The University offers about 228 certificate, diploma, degree and doctoral programmes, with strength of nearly 810 faculty members and 574 academic staff at the headquarters and regional centres and about 33,212 academic counselors from conventional institutions of higher learning, professional organizations, and industry among others.

IGNOU has lived up to the country’s expectations of providing education to the marginalised sections of society. Free of cost education is being provided to all jail inmates across the country. A large number of SC/ST students have been admitted to various programmes of the University.
With the launch of EduSat (a satellite dedicated only to education) on 20th September, 2004, and the establishment of the Inter-University Consortium, the University has ushered in a new era of technology-enabled education in the country. All the regional centres and high enrollment study centres have been provided with active two-way video-conferencing network connectivity, which has made it possible to transact interactive digital content. Emphasis is now being laid on developing interactive multimedia and online learning, and adding value to the traditional distance education delivery mode with modern technology-enabled education within the framework of blended learning.
In the last 26 years, IGNOU, through high-quality self-learning material and innovative programmes, has established itself as a National Resource Centre and a provider of quality education — at par with other national and international institutions.
At present, the average time taken for a major programme — from its conceptualization to its delivery — is four to five years. , many of the programmes may be outdated by the time they are developed, delivered. Therefore, it is important that the time taken to develop and deliver a new programme be significantly reduced. The University would also focus on reducing the time taken in activities such as student registration, material dispatch, evaluation, etc.
Electronic Media in Education
IGNOU operates a 24-hour educational TV channel Gyan Darshan and a radio-cooperative Gyan Vani. There is provision for two-way tele-conferencing, interactive radio counselling, and for relaying educational programmes through local FM radio stations.

Candidates who have passed their Engineering or who are currently pursuing the final year of engineering course are eligible to apply for the course; the candidates appearing in the final year examination of Degree Course should be able to produce the Engineering Degree within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at IMA.
Candidates can register themselves through the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. Registrations for online applications have already started from December 01, 2014 and the last date to apply is December 31, 2014. Interviews for the Technical Graduate Course will be held in Mar/Apr 2015 onwards. Technical graduate course in various disciplines will commence in July 2015.
Age of the applicant should be between 20 – 27 years at the time of commencement of course (Candidates born between 02nd Jul 1988 and 01st Jul 1995 both dates inclusive). The date of birth entered in the Matriculation or an equivalent examination certificate will be accepted by the office.

One of the most advanced branches in engineering, aerospace engineering encompasses the fields of aeronautical and aerospace (spacecraft) engineering. You would study topics such as fluid mechanics, heat transfer, applied aerodynamics, analytical mechanics, flight vehicle design, trajectory dynamics, and aerospace propulsion systems.
Aerospace engineers, popularly called “rocket scientists” develop hi-tech aeroplanes that weigh over a half a million pounds, to spacecraft that travel at the speed of 17,000 miles an hour.
They design, develop and test aircraft, spacecraft, and missiles and supervise their manufacture.
Aerospace engineers who work with aircraft are considered aeronautical engineers, and those working specifically with spacecraft are called aerospace engineers.

Karunya University (formerly Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences) is fully-residential Christian private university located in Coimbatore. It was founded as a Christian minority institution by the late Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran and his son Dr. Paul Dhinakaran, Christian evangelists and founders of Jesus Calls Ministries, India.
In 1981, Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran embarked on the path to start a technical university. The Institute of Technology on 04th Oct 1986 as Karunya Institute of Technology by the late Arjun Singh, the former Human Resources and Development (HRD) Minister. The Institute was then affiliated to Bharathiar University in Coimbatore and functioned as a private self-financing engineering college. It was promoted by the Karunya Educational Trust. In 2004, the Institute was awarded university status in recognition of its academic excellence by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India and subsequently, renamed as Karunya University under Sec-3 of the UGC Act 1956.

Age: The candidate should be below 21 years on the 1st of July of the year of admission

The exam is conducted at different centres across the country, namely in Kolkata, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Ranchi, Cochin, Guwahati, Anantapur and Rajahmundry.
For Tamil Nadu, there are centres at Coimbatore, Trichy, Madurai, Chennai, Nagercoil, Tuticorin and Tirunelveli.
Application Forms: Application form along with prospectus can be obtained on the payment of requisite charges from Admissions Officer, Karunya University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Forms can also be downloaded from the University website and payment should be made at the time of submission through Demand Draft or online through Master Card, Credit Card or Visa Card.
Application forms along with prospectus are issued from the last week of January every year and should be submitted by the third week of April.
Entrance Examination is usually conducted in the last week of April.
